[Panel 1: Outside a Primary School. Elvie's voice emanates from one of the windows]
Elvie: My niece tells me that she's got a new teacher who used to work for Microsoft.

[Panel 2: Inside the headmaster's office]
Elvie: I hope he won't be teaching the kids that computing starts and ends with Word and Excel.

[Panel 3]
Headmaster: I think you've misunderstood -- he's not an I.T. teacher -- he's teaching maths.

[Panel 4: In the classroom the teacher is talking to Elvie's niece]
Teacher: Now Jessica, what number comes after eight?
Jessica: Nine, sir?

[Panel 5]
Teacher: No, no, no. Don't you remember what I taught you about the 'Number Line'?
[The blackboard behind them reveals that the number line runs as follows:
1, 2, 3, 95, 98, ME, XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10 - with arrows indicating the location of
the "decimals", 3.1 and 8.1]
