While scanning pages of “The Book Of Original Drawings”* for our Season 1 & 2 CD I found lots of old sketches for comics that never got made. Some of them are still worth revisiting, including this one:
The original joke essentially covered the first two panels of this strip. The remaining three panels were going to be the Easter Egg. But I decided that I liked the Easter Egg more than the original joke, and those panels got promoted. Of course that then meant coming up with a different Easter Egg…
* The reference to “The Book Of Original Drawings” will make sense to anyone who buys the CD and then listens to and watches the interview on it.
