It’s been a while since we had a series of strips — our last was midway through Season 3 — so we felt it was about time to produce something a little longer than our usual single-shot jokes. This is Part I of… several. We don’t know exactly how many yet, as we’re still drawing them and editing the plot and punchlines as we go. We expect to drag at least three strips out of it, making it our longest Greys series to date.

If you like your comics in serial form and would like something a bit longer than three or four strips then do check out ‘Monsters, Inked‘ — our continuous storyline comic made up of individual gags. We’re on strip #34 at the moment, with many, many more to come before the story is complete.

G1: Remind me, why did you call me over here today? It wasn't just to watch a film, was it?

G2: No, of course not — it's to show you my new invention…

G2: You know we've got these memory wiping devices. I've patented the idea of embedding them around the edges of cinema screens. I call it "Filmnesia"

G1: Cinema screens? Why would you want to do that?

G2: Have you ever seen "Planet of the Apes"?

G1: Yes I have. Great film — the original one, of course. Excellent surprise ending

G2: But don't you wish you could watch it again for the first time, without already knowing what the ending is?

G2: It's the same with "The Sixth Sense", "The Usual Suspects", "12 Monkeys" — not to mention all the whodunnits

With my invention you can go to see any film you want, even one you've seen a hundred times before, and all memory of it will be erased before the film begins

G1: So every time you see it, it's like watching it for the first time all over again

G2: Exactly! Look, I've got this screen set up as a prototype, so you can see how well it works

[Caption: Some time later…]

G1: Wow! That was a great film. I really didn't see that ending coming

G1: Remind me, why did you call me over here today? It wasn't just to watch a film, was it?

G2: No, of course not — it's to show you my new invention…
