This strip first appeared in issue #295 of Linux Magazine (June 2025). The Framework company was not involved in the creation of this strip in any way – we just thought it made for a good joke. However, we do commend them on the approach they’re taking to making modern technology more sustainable.

Elvie: I've bought a Framework laptop. It's modular, so I can change the motherboard without replacing the chassis.
James: Because it's better for the environment?
[Panel 2: The view has changed so that we can now see the open lid of Elvie's laptop, covered in stickers for various geeky companies, computer programs and more]
Elvie: No… So I can upgrade without losing my collection of stickers!
